The debut of the Ha Ha Half Marathon in 2018 is a fun run–no fees, no awards and no aid stations. Join us, we want to hear your thoughts on our course before the Ha Ha Half becomes a fully certified course in 2019! In 2019, we’ll have awards, t-shirts, aid stations and everything you expect from a certified event.

Pre and post-run, we’ll provide Skratch Labs electrolytes and fuel at the starting/finish line pavilion. We encourage you to bring your own fuel as well. Our Skratch Labs products will be limited.

Post-run, we’ll head to Larry’s on the Lake for food and fun. We encourage everyone to stick around!

This is a beautiful course at Ha Ha State Park at the Lake of the Ozarks. Nearly all of it is single track trail. You’ll encounter steps, 316 to be exact. Graveyard 5k Run & Walk

Are you ready for some mysterious, physical activity? Join KC Crew at the Elmwood Cemetery for 2017 Graveyard 5K on Saturday, October 7th. Let’s help raise some money for the maintenance of the cemetery!

This race takes place entirely within Elmwood Cemetery, where many influential Kansas Citians call their final resting place.

Some fun facts about Elmwood Cemetery include:
– Keep an eye out for the headstone of Americus McKim, the owner of KC’s first professional baseball team, The Kansas City Unions. Without him, we wouldn’t be able to cheer on the Royals today!
– Simeon Brooks Armour, the founding member of Armour and Company Meat Packing, is buried in the Armour Family plot in Elmwood. Armour Boulevard is named after Simeon and his family.
– The Elmwood Cemetery is the second oldest cemetery in Kansas City.
– It’s also the final resting place of 766 soldiers who fought in the Civil War on both sides.

Do you have what it takes to walk, or run with the dead? 👻

The Great Kaw Adventure Race

The Great Kaw Adventure Race is an orienteering based, cognitive, and physical challenge event. Challenges could be trivia about Eudora’s German and Indian heritage, complex equations, gunny sack races, or a simple puzzle. Participants will be required to navigate to waypoints and challenges to retrieve important artifacts. To acquire these artifacts, an action will have to be performed. Participants will be limited to right of way and public properties unless otherwise stated. If we catch you running through lawns (and our residents will) you will be penalized.

Each two person team will be issued a map with the waypoints marked. It is up to the team to decide what is the best way to complete the course. No cue sheets will be issued. No markings will be placed in town. The course will be open to traffic and citizens. Participants will be required to be within two seconds of each other regardless of transit. If you’re running you should be able to touch, you will both be in the same boat, and if your cycling you should be able to draft. This is a team event so choose your exit buddy well. All finishers will receive an award for finishing (more to come soon!)

For 2017 the GKAR will have two classes.

The 30 miler will require participants to run, paddle 11.4 miles, and cycle gravel roads back to the finish line. Depending on strategy, participants could travel between 24 to 30 miles. This class will require a running, river travel, and cycling unless conditions prevent are unsafe. All finishers will receive an award, with top prizes going to first, second, and third place teams.

The 5 miler will require participants to run or walk through and around Eudora to find waypoints. Depending on strategy, participants could travel between 4 to 8 miles. All finishers will receive an award. This course will focus heavily on orienteering and exploring the community.

Please revise our entry into your race calendar. We have renamed our race to align with nationwide CASA efforts. Please feel free to contact me direct if necessary with any questions. Pioneer Run (10K, 5K Run & 2-Mile Walk)

Northland Early Education Center’s (NEEC) annual Pioneer Run is Saturday, June 10 at 8 a.m. at English Landing Park in Parkville, Mo.

The event will feature:
•10K, 5K, and 2-Mile Walk
•Pancake and sausage breakfast from Chris Cakes
•A complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary after the race
•T-shirts for all participants
•Great prizes and a raffle
•Balloon artist and face painter for the kids
•NEW THIS YEAR…We Rock The Spectrum will have their We Rock on Wheels Bus onsite, a fun mobile unit of their gym.

The proceeds from this important annual fundraiser will directly benefit NEEC’s renovation and expansion project, which will allow NEEC to serve more children, increasing occupancy by 55%. NEEC provides early education and therapy services for children age’s birth to five who have special needs and typical needs in the Northland community. NEEC provides these essential services for children in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Did you know?
•Very few preschools provide early education for children with special needs alongside their typically developing peers. Even fewer offer on-site therapy services for children with special needs.

•There are only four organizations in entire Kansas City Metropolitan area (400-mile radius) that provide similar services for this targeted age group. NEEC is one of two located in the Northland community.

•The need in the Northland is so great for these types of services that NEEC’s wait list extends until August 2017.

Registration fees for the 10K run are $35 and the 5K run and 2-mile walk fees are $30. Children 3 and younger are free. Strollers are welcome and dogs on a leash are too. Registration: leavenworthhistory.org
Welcome to the Buffalo Bell Stampede, the best small town half marathon, 10K & 5K race! Come, run with us, in the 6th year of the half-marathon, which now includes an expanded offering of a 10K and 5K race known as the Buffalo Bell Stampede.

This is a benefit race for the Leavenworth County Historical Society at the Carroll Mansion Museum, a non-funded, non-profit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve, and maintain the rich history we enjoy here in Leavenworth County.

Where the buffalo roam We want to involve the community as a whole, so there are several races available to meet those needs—the challenging half marathon for the serious runner, a 10K for the seasoned runner and a 5K race for families and beginning runners.

Ring the BELL at the summit of Leavenworth’s “Pikes Peak”

Off and Running the Race
The courses are USATF Certified and timed by Race Day Timing Solutions. The half-marathon loop course will take runners where the buffalo once roamed and by a roadside commemorative marker of the Santa Fe and Oregon Trails as well as historic districts that feature beautiful vintage homes dating back to the 1850s. The highlight of the half-marathon run is the ringing of an old farm BELL at the summit of Leavenworth’s Pikes Peak on 20th Street. Runners of all races will receive a fun race t-shirt, a beautifully designed finisher’s medal, and the distinction of becoming part of Leavenworth History !

We also invite the public to participate in this annual event by coming out and lining the race route or the infield track to cheer on our runners. There are also opportunities to volunteer on pre-race and race day or to even become a sponsor of the event! Please join us! Leavenworth, the oldest city in Kansas, is where you want to be on May 1, 2016!
