Tom has been running for the last seven years thanks to his then girlfriend, now wife, who wanted a workout partner. His reasons to keep running were to become healthier, and with that he was able to lose 30 pounds. He became serious with his running the last four years and became hooked on marathons. Today he runs for health, enjoyment and to set a good example to others by staying active. He feels being a runner helps him understand other runners and makes it easier for him to provide help for his patients.
Outreach: Tom is very involved in helping others in the running community through his profession and by attending several races. If you are lucky you might even see Tom running as a turkey in The Thanksgiving Day Run!
Running Goals: To qualify for Boston and run a marathon on every continent. At some point he would like to run a 50 miler, if not a 100 miler.
